Faux Pork Sausage: Swap In Reliable Ground Beef

I love having sausage in my breakfast foods, the issue with sausage is that it tends to be very high in fat and harder to control macros on when aiming to focus on a high protein intake.

To help get a similar taste but use a much lower fat ground beef you can use the following spices and allow some time to rest to get that same type of taste but with 75% less fat then most pork sausage.

I would recommend you create this early and allow to come together and then freeze what you won't use, I tend to make 2 or 3 lbs at the same time now and save the rest to use as needed.

Instructions

  1. Add all of your dry ingredients to a small prep bowl and give them a quick stir.
  2. Grab a mixing bowl and add your ground beef into it.
  3. Sprinkle the dry sausage ingredients over the ground beef.
  4. Mix the ground beef and the dry ingredients.
    1. Use your hands. Don’t be afraid to really get in there and get your hands meaty. Mix it up until your ground beef and spices are thoroughly combined.
  5. Cover your newly made sausage, and set it aside in the refrigerator for a minimum of 30 minutes.
After the half hour has passed, you can use the sausage in a recipe, cook it and freeze it, or freeze it uncooked to use at a later date. Enjoy!
